A live lead is someone who has just asked to hear from an advisor. If your caller reaches them in the first few minutes, the conversation usually starts well. But many people do not pick up the first call: they are at work, driving, or in the middle of a trade. A short, well-timed WhatsApp message keeps the lead warm until you can talk.
Why WhatsApp works for live leads
The person filled a form on an ad on their phone. WhatsApp is on the same phone, and a message is easier to answer than an unknown number calling twice. It also gives them your name and firm in writing, which builds trust before the conversation.
A simple four-touch routine
- Call within five minutes. Open with the enquiry: the amount they planned to invest and when they asked.
- If there is no answer, send one WhatsApp message within ten minutes. Keep it short: who you are, why you are messaging, and a question they can answer in one line.
- Call again later the same day. Try after market hours if the first call was during trading time.
- One reminder the next day. If there is still no reply, send one polite message and then stop.
What the first message should say
A message that works is plain and specific. For example: “Hi, this is [name] from [firm]. You asked about investing in the stock market a few minutes ago. When is a good time for a 5-minute call today?” It names your firm, refers to their enquiry, and asks one easy question.
What to avoid

- Long messages and brochures. Save the details for the call.
- Messaging after they say no. Note it and move on. Pushing harms your number’s reputation.
- Late-night messages. Stick to normal working hours.
